Wiz Khalifa’s video “See You Again” featuring singer Charlie Puth has passed Korean pop stars Psy’s “Gangnam Style” to be the most watched video on YouTube, hitting nearly 3 billion views.
“Gangnam Style” previously held the records, garnering 1 billion views in just 2 days. It took Khalifa significant’y more time to rack up those numbers but with an average of 3 million views a day this year alone, he managed to take the title from the Korean, and beat out Justin Beiber who was also in the run to beat the previously owned record.
Both Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa are grateful to everyone who supported the project, and all the fans that have viewed it. But just how much money will they earn from 3 billion views on youtube.
According to previous articles written about youtubers, the average rate is $1000 per million views. So if you do the maths, then, after the 45% cut that Youtube takes, that roughly $2.9 million for the Fast and Furious 7 track.
Puth and Khalifa may take home a little less than that depending on their deal with the records label but all in all, congratulations boys.
